Slow Food, founded in 1986, is an international organization whose aim is to protect the pleasures of the table from the homogenization of modern fast food and life. Though a variety of initiatives it promotes gastronomic culture, develops taste education, conserves agricultural biodiversity and protects traditional foods at risk of extinction. It now boasts over 100,000 members in 153 countries.

A Slow Dinner Invitation -August 29th 2012

The new  Slow Food Waitakere Committee  was elected at our AGM  on July 29th and its  no surprise that one of the first  things we are going to do is have a meal together - and we would like to invite our fellow Slow Food members and supporters to join us ! We have booked a table at Bunga Raya  Malaysian Restaurant in New Lynn for Wednesday, August 29th.

Its a fantastic restaurant that serves both Malaysian and Nonya food.(For details see below). 

Dinner will mark the start of a very convivial and active  year for our group and  we hope to see you there.
