Slow Food, founded in 1986, is an international organization whose aim is to protect the pleasures of the table from the homogenization of modern fast food and life. Slow Food Waitakere May Event: Japanese Cooking Class

 Japanese Cooking Class at Pine Valley

Slow Food Waitakere member Kazuyo Friedlander invites SF members and friends to a wonderful cooking class
 with Chikako Dean.

Chikako has been teaching Japanese Cuisine both in the UK and NZ, this is the menu that she has designed for
 Slow Food Waitakere:


Buttercup croquets
Daikon Radish Ume mayonnaise salad
Sesame flavoured stir fry capsicums 
Marinated celery in sweet vinegar
Rolled Rice in Nori- 2 kinds
Chicken mince balls skewer
Omelette with Surimi inside
Mustard flavoured Broccoli 
Salmon Saute in fragrant sauce

In addition to this, there will be a demonstration of Tofu making and tasting.
