Slow Food 2016 - We can vote with our fork!
Hello to our current members; a welcome to our new members and a big thank you to all you interested folk, who have attended an event or given us your contact details so you can find out more about Slow Food. We are keen to meet you again and hope you are inspired to become members.
Doing
So far there  has  been lots of fun and action going on including two fabulous dinners at Pasta & Cuore in Mt Eden and co-hosting the Food is Free: Glen Eden Festival; and there’s much more to come. On the menu is our May event Caffe E Parlare (Coffee and Talk) supporting the Fairtradechallenge and a Midwinter Vegetarian Christmas Dinner for members.
Watch out for more more dinners and events through out the year.
Thinking
Did you know it's consumers who have the ultimate power over what our future food production looks like and the way we will access it? “Every aspect of our lives is, in a sense, a vote for the kind of world we want to live in.” Frances Moore Lappé author of Diet for a Small Planet. So we want to help get people thinking about how to vote with their fork......
Sharing
We are planning a year that is infused with great food, company, supporting local producers and thinking about how we spend our food dollars to create our future. And of course, enjoying every mouthful. We welcome your ideas on what all this means to you.
Salon Gusto Terra Madre - Turin September 22nd to 26th 2016
