Great food, wine, inspiration and action - Gusto Italiano August 31st 2014

Celebrating Salon Gusto and Terra Madre 2014

Embracing the slow life with Joelle Thomson
An update from the 2014 delegates Anutosh, Fiona and Yvonne
And an invitation to drop by our stall at the Italian Festival on September 28th

Our Slow Food Waitakere Gusto Italiano dinner was a real celebration of all things slow and a fantastic way to bring together our members and supporters who are committed to good, clean, fair food.

Our special guest and Slow Food member Joelle Thomson shared her love of wine and passion for making it fun, accessible and enjoyable. And she reminded us that while we may not always live the slow life we can always aspire to it!

The food and wine were bellissimo!
Love chardonnay then you have to try Terri di Chieti Pecorino
What we ate.....
bruschetta all'aglio, affettati misti
linguine gustose, gnocchi di zucca salsa primavera, tagiata di manzo, pesce al cartoccio tiramisu. biscotti, coffee
Thank you Armando

And conviviality plus!
A truly passionate group came together - food and wine lovers, italiophiles, food writers,  a wine writer, food activists, food advocates and food producers, all sharing their vision.
We truly are "cooking up a revolution".

Fi and Anutosh shared their excitement at being Terra Madre/Salon Gusto delegates.
The "big Italian road trip" is all about getting to the heart of the Slow Food Movement and how we can bring our new learnings, networks and ideas back to our convivium and our communities. Think biodiversity, family farming, Slow Money, Earth Markets ......

And we will be sharing it all at the Terra Madre event on November 23rd.

In the mean time make sure you come and see us  at the Italian Festival - its on September 28th  and is fantastic!
