Chinese Medicinal Cuisine

薬膳 -----Literally translates as "Medicinal Meal", and it has a long history in China along with the Chinese Medicine itself. Today Medicinal Cuisine is still widely enjoyed in homes and restaurants throughout China. The name may not sound so appetizing when translated, but in fact the medicinal herbs are well matched to the flavor of other spices and ingredients:
some may be delicate, other zesty and fragrant, offering an exciting way of eating and healing at the same time.
The tutor will be Mrs. Takako Fowler, a Chinese Herbalist and acupuncture doctor who lives in Auckland.
We hope that you can come and try cooking some of the dishes and feel the effects after lunch!
